Our Oakbank Hospital has been designed for medical management of colics - we are well equipped to administer fluids, monitor case progression and treat abdominal discomfort. Our vets are well trained to recognize signs of surgical colic and facilitate prompt referral.
Equine gastric diseases including EGUS, EGGD, pyloric obstructions and esophageal disorders are well recognized diseases in horses. Elm Creek Equine offers gastroscopy to diagnose these lesions and prescribe appropriate therapy. Patients are welcome to board overnight prior to their appointment to ensure appropriate fasting.
Elm Creek Equine - Oakbank is now our primary service provider for advanced sports medicine treatments, including (but certainly not limited to) biologic therapies! We offer Pro-Stride, IRAP, Ani-Cell, ACP, as well as Shockwave and Class IV Laser Therapy
Dr. Dunlop at Elm Creek Equine - Oakbank has a special interest in equine ophthalmology. We offer advanced ocular diagnostics including fundic exams and intra-ocular pressures. Dr. Dunlop has an excellent referring relationship with equine ophthalmologists in Calgary and works alongside these specialists to best manage your horse's advanced eye conditions. Hospitalization for intensive equine ophthalmology cases is available in Oakbank and Elm Creek.
